The American College is pleased to recognize Maxine B. Niemeyer, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS, MSM, as the February 2012 Alumna of the Month

Maxine Niemeyer is a graduate of the Detroit College of Business.  An advocate for continuing education, she holds the CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS, and MSM designations and certificates in estate planning, pension planning and personal investments.

Ms. Niemeyer began her career at Phoenix Home Life in 1956 and continues to this day to serve as a leader and mentor.

She is the first woman to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the American College.  She has served in this capacity since 1981.  She has also served as chairperson of the Certification Committee and has been an active member of the Educational Policy, Development, JPCC and Budget and Finance Committees of the American College.  An advocate for continuing education, she is a spokesperson for the College’s Professional Achievement Continuing Education (PACE) program.

Ms. Niemeyer has also been the recipient of the Huebner Gold Medal award from the American College.  This is presented to persons who support the college and program and whose dedication to professionalism have been of particular meaning to the mission and progress of the College.

She has also served as President of the American Society of CLU, ChFC, President of the Greater Detroit CLU Chapter and President of the Detroit Association of Life Underwriters.

She is the recipient of Phoenix Home Life’s highest brokerage honor, The James L. Tapp Award.  This award is reserved for those who possess the ability and initiative to make a difference in the lives of others.  She has also been recognized numerous times throughout her career for her production level.  She has received the Manager Certificate of Achievement, Brokerage Manager Trophy and Brokerage Manager Superior Performance Plaque.  She is the past president of the Leave A Legacy Organization in Michigan.

She is noted as one of the pioneers in the brokerage organization.  She is a true professional whose list of accomplishments continue.
