Myra Slaybaugh joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in January 2006, following a 5-year career in the United States Army. While in the military, she served as an air defense artillery officer, a “Top Gun” tactical control officer, and the battalion’s tactical training and evaluations officer. She attained the rank of captain.

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering, Myra holds Series 6, 63 and 65 securities licenses, in addition to state life, health and property-and-casualty insurance licenses in Georgia, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Washington and South Carolina. She is a Certified Financial Planner®, a Chartered Financial Consultant®, a Chartered Leadership Fellow® and a member of the Financial Planning Association. Myra is a Penn Mutual Center for Veterans Affairs Scholarship recipient.

Understanding that the single most powerful contributor to financial well-being is behavior, Myra works closely with each client to develop a unique financial plan that reflects their values, addresses their priorities and supports their goals. Each plan includes recommendations for specific financial products and services to support those goals. Through ongoing planning to address changes in one’s financial and personal circumstances, Myra is ready to assist clients as they pursue their goals through a lifetime financial journey.

To better assist her clients with their financial planning needs, Myra has built a team of support members, including an administrative assistant, a client contact specialist and a marketing specialist.

Married with two children, Myra is the parent of a special needs child, and she is passionate about helping families manage the decisions associated with special needs planning. She is a member of both the Autism Society of America and Autism Speaks. She is also a participant in Business Networking International and a member of the Association of the United States Army.

Myra enjoys traveling, organic gardening, physical fitness, music and art.
