Sal Farina

January 2011

he American College is please to recognize Immediate Past President of the Alumni Association and member of The College’s Foundation Board, Sal Farina, as the January 2011 Alumnus of the Month.

During his tenure as President of the Association, membership numbers grew exponentially and benefits provided to those members increased rapidly.  Sal’s never-say-quit attitude and engaging personality allowed the Association to blossom into the strong, 38,000-member organization that it is today.  He also recently joined The College’s Foundation Board to lead new donors to The College’s vital, educational mission.

Sal is the Managing Partner of the New York Life Long Island General Office.  In this role, he oversees 400 agents in one of New York Life’s most productive and admired agencies.  Prior to returning to the field to lead the agency where he began his career, Sal served as the Senior Vice President of New York Life’s Northeast Zone.  In this role, he was responsible for 1800 agents producing $75 million of First Year Commission.

Sal’s service to his College is outstanding.  In addition to his roles on the Alumni and Foundation Boards, Sal volunteers as the Joseph/Liddy Chair in Leadership at The College, teaching in the CLF and MSM programs.

For his serious dedication to education, professionalism, and ethics, Sal Farina, MSM, CLU®, ChFC®, CLF®, is a model leader and greatly deserves being named Alumnus of the Month for January 2011.
