We are saddened to share with you the news that King McGlaughon, CAP®, passed away this week after a long battle with lung cancer.
King was the first holder of the Bill and Sallie Wallace Chair in Philanthropy at our College. King also served as Vice President of Academic Affairs before returning to the banking industry where he served as a leading authority on planned giving to charities.
King was a thought leader who was passionate about the launch of our Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) program. He helped us link people and charities. He was eloquent about helping non-profits and their special mission. We are a stronger College because of his scholarship and advocacy.
The American College extends its heartfelt condolences to the McGlaughon family.
